Reconciliation – Confession
In this Sacrament, the faithful acknowledge their sinfulness and confess their particular sins. They express their sorrow to the priest – who represents Christ – and their determination to act differently and to allow Jesus to help them to change their ways. They receive absolution and forgiveness. A simple penance is required.
At St Chad’s, Confessions are heard every day after the 9:30am morning Mass and on Saturdays from 6:00pm – 6:30pm.
If you need this Sacrament at any other time please call or speak to a priest.
Catechetical preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation usually coincides with preparation for the Eucharist ( See Eucharist page). For adults, this is part of the Adult initiation programme.
